Eevee Artwork by Ken Sugimori

The official USA Pokémon website has announced that one of Eevee's seven evolutions will be available from the Pokémon Global Link. How do you get it? By playing a simple game in the Pokémon Fun Zone!

The game doesn't really have a name besides "Play to Befriend a Pokémon!". It is basically Brick Break in that you bounce the ball up to hit blocks and the ball continues to bounce around and you have to keep it going with a bar at the bottom.

The Pokémon Global Link launches sometime this spring.

Nintendo has announced that when Pokémon Black and White launch on March 6, there will be two special edition Nintendo DSi available to commemorate the games. Below you can read the official press release. At the bottom are links to pictures of both DSi.

LIMITED-EDITION ETCHED NINTENDO DSI BUNDLES COMMEMORATE LAUNCH OF NEW POKÉMON GAMES
Starting March 6, Nintendo will offer consumers an especially exciting way to experience the new Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games. Two limited-edition etched black and white Nintendo DSi™ bundles will be available at retailers while supplies last.

The black system bundles will be packaged with the Pokémon Black Version game, while the white system bundles will be packaged with a copy of the Pokémon White Version game. Both the black systems and white systems will feature the new Legendary Pokémon Reshiram™ and Zekrom™ etched onto the casing. Reshiram and Zekrom are among the more than 150 never-before-seen Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version. The bundles will also include a custom Pokémon Nintendo DSi carrying case. Each bundle will be offered at a suggested retail price of $179.99.

Players can enjoy the majority of the games' features on any type of Nintendo DS™ system, but when played on the Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL™ systems, players can use the games' new Xtransceiver device to engage in video chat with others after exchanging Friend Codes. Up to four players can use the Xtransceiver via a local wireless connection, and two players can experience the feature online via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service (broadband Internet access required). When played on an original Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite system, the feature enables voice chat. All players can exchange written messages using the touch screen.

The individual Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games will launch on March 6, and are now available for pre-order from major retailers throughout North America for a suggested retail price of $34.99 each. Victini

Nintendo has just issued a press release involving how we can receive Victini in the United States. Anyone who buys Pokémon Black or White between the launch date and April 10, 2011 will be able to download the Liberty Pass via Nintendo Wi-Fi. The Liberty Pass allows you to encounter Victini in Black and White.

Press Release
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are giving Pokémon™ fans yet another reason to get revved up for the March 6 launch of the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems. Consumers who purchase either of the new games between launch and April 10 will be able to receive a special Liberty Pass via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (broadband Internet access required), which will enable them to catch the never-before-seen Mythical Pokémon Victini™.

Victini - the Victory Pokémon - is the first Pokémon that's Psychic- and Fire-type and cannot be obtained through normal game play. It is said that Victini creates an unlimited supply of energy, which it shares with others. This energy source may be the secret to how it brings about victories. Victini's unique and exclusive Victory Star ability not only increases its own accuracy in battle, but also boosts the accuracy of all a player's Pokémon in battle. Victini is a must-have in any Pokémon battle, especially useful in Triple Battles, which debut in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version.

Pokémon Zoroark: Master of Illusion

The official Pokémon website has updated to announce when the movie Pokémon Zoroark: Master of Illusion will air in the US. They have also revealed a new Pokémon movie website that will probably be the home to all future movies as well.

It will air on Cartoon Network this Saturday, February 5th at 7pm. Before the movie airs, Pokémon: Giratina & the Sky Warrior will air at 5pm.

The site has some information about the movie. Working our way down, it shows a trailer for the movie first. Then, they give a text summary of the storyline and what is going to happen during the movie. Finally, they give a brief description of three characters, Goone, Zorua, and Zoroark along with 4 downloadable desktop backgrounds and a Zoroark screensaver.

For you event collectors out there, no news of a Goone Scizor in the US yet.

In other news, the official Pokémon website also announces that the Pokémon: Black and White season will air on Cartoon Network at 9am on February 12.

Pikachu

The official Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver website for Canada has announced that Canada is getting an actual Pokémon as an event. Is this the sign of the apocalypse?

Ash's Pikachu will be distributed at Toys"R"Us stores in Canada from February 9, 2011 to February 20, 2011. Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver can download the Pikachu. While it is not confirmed, it will probably be the same as the US Pikachu.

Pikachu

A few weeks ago, Toys"R"Us announced that they would be distributing a Pikachu that was identical to Ash's Pikachu in the anime. Roughly a week or so later, the page was taken down from their website and at the time this article was written, it is still unavailable. However, they official Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver website has announced the same Pikachu event but with different details.

The original announcement said it would be available starting January 30 and ending February 5. This is apparently incorrect according to the official Pokémon website which states January 30 to February 13. This gives you an extra week to get to your local Toys"R"Us store with your copy of Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver and download Pikachu.
