Naxville logo

Naxville

Naxville is a Minecraft server started by Jake Sawyer (Naxum). He created the custom plugin, Naxcraft, the server uses to make it unlike any Minecraft server out there. The site was created with HTML, CSS, and PHP.

I created this website because the existing one was unappealing and outdated. It features some basic information about the server including what version on Minecraft it is running and which users are currently online. It is also capable of detecting when the server goes offline and will send a notification tweet to the owner.

But, more impressively, is the custom bug tracker I created. It allows a player to easily report any issues they experience and track it until it is patched.

Pokémon Secure logo

Pokémon Secure

Pokémon Secure is an online community for people who collected event Pokémon, special promotions from Nintendo. It was first opened in January 2008 by DGee as a forum. When I took over, I started using the forum's web pages tool to create some basic pages for news and other things. This was where I first really began to teach myself how to code websites and manipulate themes.

In late 2009, I decided I wanted to create an actual website that would still have that look and feel of the forum and still have the resources user's expected. I had to recreate the half dozen themes that were being used on the forum to keep the look of the site people were familiar with and copy the content I had already created.

It was originally created using HTML, CSS, and some very basic PHP with some tips from Grzegorz Stefański (stefanol). I soon taught myself more advanced PHP and SQL, redoing the backend of the site to make it easier to maintain and update the content on the pages.

Virtuadopt logo

Virtuadopt

Virtuadopt is an online browser game based on the popular Pokémon franchise. It was officially opened on April 1, 2009 by Grzegorz Stefański (stefanol). It was created with HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript/jQuery.

One of the most impressive features on Virtuadopt is something only the staff members know about, the Admin Control Panel. I created it to make managing the game faster and easier. It includes a permission system that controls which users have access to which modules. The script itself is broken up into different files to easily upgrade it and make up over 6,900 lines of code.

In 2022, the site was completely rewritten to use a modern framework, Slim.

Click Wizards logo

Click Wizards

Click Wizards is a link exchange site you can use to share your links and receive clicks on your favorite online browser games. Users from various click-based browser games, including Virtuadopt, would use the site to "level up" their pets by having other users click the "feed" link.

I created this website as a learning opportunity and experiment with new features for a website. It was available in 8 languages and translations were provided by the user base. A fluid layout was also used so users could easily use the site on any device. A system was also developed to automatically detect if a website was unavailable and temporarily remove their links from the exchange until it was online again.
